Centenary Event Planting at Achnabreck Picnic Site – Argyll
Beautiful image by Marc Pickering, Forestry and Land Supervisor, and is of a commemorative oak tree being planted in Achnabreck Picnic site near Cairnbaan.
The event is celebration of 100 years of forestry and in fact the Centenary of the origins of the Forestry Commission. The people involved in this particular planting are Phil Risby (in blue jacket) formerly Head Forester at Kilmichael, Inverinan and Forest District Manager (Loch Awe) , Donald McDougall (in green jacket) Forestry and Land forester covering east Loch Awe and Ewan Carter the most recent recruit to the forestry team as a technician in planning.
