Achnamara forestry village viewed from the east
The photograph courtesy of Fiona Green, North Connel, and is a partially obscured view over the southern end of the Forestry Commission built village of Achnamara.
Fiona indicates that here the Swedish Forestry Houses are in two lines one nearest to the camera running along the main access road and one line at the back next to the loch. In the line nearest to the camera from the first block on the far left is No 1/2 then 5/6, 9/10 & 13/14 (well hidden).
On the line next to the loch from the first on the left sitting at an angle is block No 3/4 then 7/8, 11/12 with 15/16 mostly hidden behind the spruce branch.
The shop in hidden in the foreground with the chimney showing and the schoolhouse is just in shot at the far right.
