Archie McDonald in garden of No 18 Achnamara
The photograph courtesy of Fiona Green, North Connel, and is of Archie McDonald who was a neighbour of Calum Shaw and his family. Archie, his wife Ruby and son Alexander were one of the longer term residents of No 18 Achnamara and he kept a very nice garden.
Fiona and Bill Green recall that Archie worked mainly on the Forest management squad but also for a period extracted timber by horse and he was one of the team who operated the first Isachsen cable crane winch when it arrived at Knapdale Forest.
They have also indicated that Seafield Farm can just be seen behind Archie on the far side of the loch.
