Eilanreach Forest – Torr an Tuirc Road drawing – Loch Hourn Section
One of a series of maps and drawings found in old ex military map cases stored in the loft of the Fort August Forest office and recovered by Grant Macintosh.
A road engineering survey and profile drawing for Torr an Tuirc forest access road into the lower part of Loch Hourn section of Eilanreach Forest. According to details on the location map insert this drawing appears to show an extension of the forest road beyond what was a part made track. This road extension may stop just short of the Alt na Tuirc stream the crossing of which features in the next Record on this website in a detailed drawing produced 6 months later. The draughtsman is still Mike Johnson and dated Dec 1964.
Note that the main engineering drawings do not have their edges aligned to compass points – rather they are fitted to the paper dimensions in what is best fit.
