Felling Competition at Dalbeattie Forest.
The photograph is courtesy of Iain Gale, mobile plant manager with James Jones at Lockerbie, who started his forestry career as a Forest Craftsman chainsaw operator in 1981 at Forestry Commission Dalbeattie Forest and onwards to Harvesting Foreman at Kielder FD.
Can anyone give any more details to what this competition was, who was judging, competing etc?
Any details would be very welcome. There are two more images in the attached PDF that may help jog a memory or two!
