Road Engineer’s Priestman Excavator EHM756J
The photograph is courtesy of Iain Gale, mobile plant manager with James Jones at Lockerbie, who started his forestry career as a Forest Craftsman chainsaw operator in 1981 at Forestry Commission Dalbeattie Forest and onwards to Harvesting Foreman at Kielder FD.
Iain writes:
“This is the Forestry Commission Galloway Roads dept Priestman Mustang face shovel. It was sent to remove the back garden of FC Ranger Roy Gales house, Woodend (owned by the FC at the time) so that a new extension could be built. Iain and Alan Gale are seen as young children obviously impressed by size of machine which had arrived. Seems a strange choice of machine for the job it was tasked for though.”
