Eilanreach Forest – Glenn Beag and Arnisdale Fire Map
One of a series of maps and drawings found in old ex military map cases stored in the loft of the Fort August Forest office and recovered by Grant Macintosh.
One of a very few fire maps surviving from the early days of the Forestry Commission. It shows the vulnerable forest areas with a red outline, the wider more fire proof rides (some with streams) as a green chevron hatch and suitable water access points mainly streams crossing roads or paths identified with a blue circle.
Another rare heritage map!
