South Laggan Forest map
One of a series of maps and drawings found in old ex military map cases stored in the loft of the Fort August Forest office and recovered by Grant Macintosh.
Possibly a copy of the vegetation and plantable area survey of the original acquisition map and the annotation of the initial planting years 1920 and 1921 (P20 and P21 ) can just be seen. It appears that an extra area is being planned within the original acquisition and later maps indicate that these areas were planted before 1928.
This was one of the five or six earliest FC planting areas in Scotland where planting must have been started in the winter /spring of 1920.
The letter F appears to indicate the initial fence line.
