Glentress Forestry School Certificate

The images are courtesy of Shona Marshall and features certificates from the collection of her late father, Alex Grossert. Alex was a forestry student at Glentress Forester Training school from 1948-1950 and after working for the Forestry Commission for a short period took up employment with Buccleuch Estates as assistant forester at Bowhill Forest, Selkirk in 1951.

The certificate awarded in 1950 states that Alex gained 69 percent in his exams and was signed by Tom Robbie as head of the School.
