Pointing Posts at Strathyre Forest

The post pointing operation seems to be taking place inside a shed that was used as a shelter in wet weather. Willie has named the man on the left as forestry worker Jimmy Gibson who appears to be holding something in his hand. Any suggestions?
The boy on the right has the surname McGregor and Willie recalls that he worked with his father, forestry worker Peter McGregor, on various jobs in the forest.

The guy on the left is not me.I was at primary school at that time.I started work on the forestry in 1961..Great photos,
