One Million acres of trees planted in Scotland

The two gentlemen Jock Watt and Ronnie Robertson (not forestry men) are standing in Birkhall Estate beside a Scots pine and plaque gifted by the Forestry Commission to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother to commemorate one million acres of trees planted by the Forestry Commission in Scotland by September 1973.
The attached PDF shows the plaque at Birkhall in more detail and also another event to commemorate the millionth acre which took place in Queen Elizabeth Forest Park described in the Forestry Commission annual report:
‘On 24 Sept 1973 Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother unveiled , outside David Marshall Lodge at Aberfoyle, Perthshire an inscribed boulder to commemorate the millionth acre planted by the Forestry Commission in Scotland accompanied by Lord Taylor of Gryfe FC Chairman - Queen Elizabeth Forest Park’.
