Sitka spruce plus tree SS/140/51/Bran
The document is courtesy of Glenbranter Forest office staff with particular thanks to Ian Adams who has stored these old files for many years.
One single record of one single plus tree out of the many thousands of high quality trees that were identified within the normal forest plantations around the country. These trees formed the back bone of the very early tree quality improvement programme as indicated by this short information note.
The Plus Queen Charlotte Island origin Sitka spruce is located in a Plus Stand and its seed have been used in planting trials with plans to use it in controlled cross pollination work.
