Strathmashie Forest — Glentruim Woods

Maps are courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and show the forest area originally part of Strathmashie Forest and then Queen’s Forest and then all amalgamated into Culloden Forest District.

This hand drawn map shows three forest areas in the Gen Truim and Cluny vicinity a little further north beyond Lagan Village but short of Newtonmore and all part of the original Strathmashie Forest. The same set of compartment numbers appear to have been allocated to the two older areas planted 1955 – 58 and a completely different number for the third area planted in 1963.

Any stories of working in this forest would be very welcome.
