Date Added: 22 May 2018 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1977 Picture No: 4096

Maps are courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and show the forest area originally part of Culloden Forest and then Culloden Forest District.

This small area next to Loch a’ Choire appears to have been planted between 1962 and 1977 and only has the one compartment number as 162 with area of 69 hectares. May have been called Ruthven.

Note that this is a 1:10000 scale map which was adopted as the standard from the original 1:10560 maps pre 1970s.
