Culloden Forest — Culloden Wood

Maps are courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and show the forest area originally part of Culloden Forest and then Culloden Forest District.

Part of the area known as Culloden Wood above the village of Balloch with resurveyed compartments running from 1-15 and planting years from 1925 – 1966 indicating that the process of felling and replanting was well on its way.

In the corner of Comp 8 are a group of about 6 Forestry Commission forestry worker houses, a Forest Worker Holding and another building or two.

Any details of these houses, buildings and the people who lived in them would be very welcome.
