Glentress camp children circa 1959
The image is courtesy of James Ross Deacon, Peebles and shows the very neat and tidy buildings and grounds of the Glentress Camp.
He comments:
‘This photograph is taken outside on the green of Forest Worker House No 3 occupied by the Brown family. From the left is my sister Christine Deacon, Shona Spence, Mrs Margaret Deacon, James Ross Deacon and Thomas Deacon taken about 1959.
Note in the background is the semi-Round Nissan hut, empty then but used as small garage, but earlier on I believe was a cookhouse storage hut. Further away the building was an old exercise hut but later was J Foggo's garage for repair of FC motors.’
