This winter scene at Glentress Forest School is courtesy of John Keenleyside, Forres, a former student at the school.

John comments 'The student on the left is James Dobbie, great footballer and a clever man who did not take his studies at Glentress. To the surprise of everyone he went out to United States of America and became a Prof. in Forestry at a University in the States.
The man on the right is James Fergusson a man from Argyll who went back to Argyll and became Head Forester on a large private estate.

The winter of January 1952 was quite a hard one so much so that the sheep owned by the FC were taken off the high ground as they were at risk of getting lost in the forest being able to walk over the snowdrifts and over the fences.

Behind the two men can just be seen is the fence separating the vegetable garden from the sports field. '

Any further details on these men would be very welcome.
