Rosemary Armour of Forres has provided a newspaper cutting of Prime Minister Harold Wilson’s visit to Culbin Forest in 1969. The prime Minister was joined by Willie Ross Scottish Secretary for the trip and accompanied on his tour of the forest by Leslie Jenkins (Chairman of the Forestry Commission), George McKenzie (Conservator East Scotland) and Culbin Forest Head Forester Willie Milne although he is not seen in these photographs. While at Culbin Harold Wilson and Willie Ross each planted a Beech tree to commemorate the visit.

The photographs show firstly Kathleen and Rosemary Armour getting their autograph books signed by the Premier, secondly the visiting party looking over some timber from a harvesting operation and thirdly Harold Wilson and Willie Ross after a presentation of walking sticks checking out alternative uses for them.

Can any of the above named forestry people be identified in the middle photograph (see large image)?
