Duke visits Culbin Forest
Rosemary Armour of Forres has provided the newspaper cutting of the Duke of Edinburgh visiting Culbin Forest in 1952 when her Grandfather Willie Milne was Head Forester in charge. According to the article the duke is here talking to two of the Culbin Forest men, James Craib and David Munro (not clear which is which) who both went onto demonstrate the thatching of the sands process as can be seen in the attached PDF.
Lord Radnor (Deputy Chairman of the Forestry Commission) is alongside the Duke and in the party also were Sir Henry Beresford –Peirce (Director of Forestry Commission Scotland), Sir Louis Greig of Binsness, Frank Oliver (Conservator East Scotland), J A M Kennedy (District officer) and Willie Milne (Head Forester) some of whom may be seen in the PDF image. The duke is hidden by the central man demonstrating the thatching and further right is Lord Radnor and then Willie Milne. It could be Sir Henry Beresford-Peirce talking to the Duke of Edinburgh.

Introduced to the Duke as long service employees at Culbin from 1922 along with James Craib and David Munro were William Wright and James Williamson
