The image, courtesy of Ruth Robertson, shows the saw mill started by her father George (Dod) Robertson in the mid 1930s when he stopped working for the Forestry Commission. He continued running the saw mill up until the late 1970s for a period of 40 years cutting posts, rails and making troughs and gates for farming customers.

Crosscutting the logs on the log ramp to the mill with two handed saw is saw miller Johnny Alexander assisted by Ted, son of George Robertson.
