House at Eshiels, Peebles

Date Added: 12 March 2018 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1930 Picture No: 3971

Image is provided courtesy of Ruth Robertson and shows the house at Lower Falla that George Robertson was allocated and probably initially rented from Board of Agriculture Scotland who had divided the surrounding area into around 14 small holdings mainly for returning WW1 service personnel.

This was the family home for a great many years and George built his sawmill here also. The attached photographs in the PDF show the changes to the building over the years.

My son has recently purchased No2 Eshiels Holdings, one of the small holdings built post WW1. We are very interested in the history of the property and would love to have an original photo if anyone could help. Comment left on 10 January 2022 at 12:07 by Margaret Dempsey
