‘A demonstration of rotovating by Howard Rortary Hoes Ltd. Notice the gorse in front of the machine which is being converted into good cultivated ground behind it.’
A remarkable piece of gorse clearance and ground cultivation by the rotovator fitted to a Fordson tractor. Experience would temper the quality of the results with the knowledge that the regrowth of gorse the following year would be very dramatic and could only be controlled by sowing grass followed by very heavy continuous grazing or alternatively chemical spraying.
