‘Clearing of derelict ground at Blackbushe Estate, Edinburgh. The Fleco grubber removing gorse etc by the roots.

The Fleco made by Stutley is attached to a Caterpillar tractor (Model?) but unfortunately the bottom edge of the grubber is not visible but assume it is a row of heavy spikes or prongs rather than a solid edge. The open system of metal spars on the blade would help to sift the soil out from the debris in due course.

The tractor is a Caterpillar D4 with an HT-4 Traxcavator loader attachment - before Cat built the machines as a complete integrated unit like the later 931, 955, 977 etc. Comment left on 23 March 2018 at 10:05 by David Shearer
