Text reads as ‘Mounted plough fitted to a Challenger 33 tracked tractor. This is designed to subsoil from 30’’ to 36’’ in depth and is used in NE(E) and E(S) Consevancies.
This large heavy tractor was used only on the firm stony sites or mineral sites with heavy induration of iron pans. The FC number is 6 12 66 and was most likely used initially by the Civil Engineering sections for road and quarry work.
The PDF shows a brand new Humpy Draining plough on the same site.
