Bert Legge (Huntly) on a new County Crawler Tractor ploughing in Cairn-mon-earn area of Durris Forest which had at least one flat area of very soft peat. He is hitched to a plough with a Cuthbertson carriage which appears to have been modified a little with some metal bars welded on left and right sides of frame. Not enough detail however in photograph to see the purpose of the additions. The tractor appears new and has the letters CD50 above the grill guard which Doug Archibald tells me represents County Diesel 50HP. The County firm were always developing their machines and many tracked and wheeled models were produced. This machine could have been a model on temp loan to test it in real working conditions.
