The text reads;
‘Engelmann spruce beside path at top of Compartment V. Loch Ossian Plantation, Corrour, Inverness-shire.’

Compartment V is part of the Boat House section of Loch Ossian Forest. While Engelmann spruce is not specifically mentioned in this compartment there are references to groups of various conifers being planted in some areas along with the Scots pine and Sitka spruce. Engelmann spruce is recorded as being planted in Compartment XVIIIB and doing quite well but a very slow grower. John Stirling Maxwell book available on this site as Record No 3356.
