Compartment Record of Cluny Area - (Scare Wood?)

This old hand written record of planting in the Cluny area (thought to be what is now known as Scare Wood - opposite Bennachie Office) demonstrates the level of detail that was written up in some of the old records - in this case 1927 to 1937. Unfortunately the forester author is not known at this stage.
It is interesting to note some of the previous history details of the compartments that were being planted, the named vegetation species, the little hand drawn maps, planting methods as well as the number of plants used initially and the many years of beating-up (replacing trees which failed). There are terse notes on the ravages of pine weevils,pine sawfly and spruce aphids.
All the effort and work did succeed and a magnificent crop of trees eventually fell to the saw in the late 1990s and early 2000s but some of the Scots pine still stand.
