Plans of Operation and attendant records
The document is courtesy of Inverness, Ross and Skye Forest District and features a minute signed by James Fraser, Conservator, to all Foresters and District Officers.
Fairly explicit instructions are contained in the minute reminding staff of the requirement to maintain an ‘Operations File’ into which should be a copy of the current working plan, copies of planting and thinning plans in operation and records of decisions from visitations by inspecting officers.
The follow on minute, undated, from Mike Long (District Officer) to the Foresters in charge in his district advises them of his intention to come around them all, survey all the plantations and other areas and update the maps. Foresters are to maintain the existing Plans of Operation until such time as he can carry out updates. See the large image for full page.
The final paragraph does not exactly exude high confidence!
