The Press and Journal item was sent in by Sandy Gordon from the Nairn area and describes the sale of the Forestry Commission Workshop site at the Longman Industrial Site, Inverness.

Can anyone say when the Workshop transferred here from Blackstand in the Black Isle?

Can anyone name the mechanics and workshop manager who were here at the start?

My father struggled to recall the exact year, but he thinks it was 1962.

The Workshop Manager was Bob Skinner, Foreman Stewart Mackenzie, Mechanics Dan Sinclair, Hughie Mackintosh, Ally Campbell, Willy McRobert, Donny Gault, Ken Logan, Raymond Morrison, Bill Mackenzie (Labourer), Joe Davis (Head Storeman), Aubrey Collins (Assistant Storeman), Nancy Smith (Clerkess).
