Cullachy Hill part of Inchnacardoch Forest
The photographs are courtesy of Mayanne Macgregor and her father Rory Macgregor who worked at the forest for two years around 1958.
The area of land lies on either side of the A82 between Fort Augustus and the Oich Bridge. The road and disused railway cannot be seen but is located at the bottom of the steeper slope. Around 1958 the forestry staff were clearing and preparing the land for planting as well and carrying out an annual tree planting programme there.
The photograph is taken looking across the River Oich and the Caledonian Canal (a bit of the latter can just be seen on the bottom of the photo) from the forest area down below the experimental area of the Lon Mor.
