Jimmy Munro on forest location
Photograph is courtesy of Margaret Murray, daughter of Jimmy Munro. The year is guessed as around 1970
Jimmy (leaning on shovel) has probably just delivered a machine to a forest location where the Road Squad are working hence the presence of John MacSween (from Scalpay) on the lorry. John may have been a ganger or foreman at this time and latterly was in charge of the bridge maintenance team based around Lairg in the 1980s.
Note the pile of concrete culvert pipes in the back ground indicating a new road project.
