Silver Jubilee Medal — James Munro
The certificate and medal are courtesy of Margaret Murray. Her father Jimmy Munro received the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977.
It appears that the medal was one of 30,000 awarded in GB manly to armed forces personnel and the royal household with many going to those in industry, arts, trades, community services and voluntary work who had been deemed to have made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens or their community.
This author was not aware of such a medal or of it being awarded to members of the Forestry Industry. Can anyone recall other people being awarded such a medal?
