Benmore Students on the playing field
This one of a set of images from photocopier scans and is courtesy of the staff at Glenbranter Forest Office.
Little was known of the details of people apart from a couple of names written on one of the images but one former student Bob Boyd has been tracked down to Northern Ireland and has provided the following information:
This photo is of myself and Bob Cuthbertson (I think we spoiled what would have been a lovely photo of Benmore House in the background with rhodies in bloom).
This was taken when we played a hockey match against the girls from Dunoon Grammar School following a challenge from them. Those were the days prior to arrival of US sailors and Benmore students were very popular with the local girls and any excuse was used for a get-together.’
It appears that to be a small but diverse group of spectators as men, women and some children can be seen but no girls!
Can any of the other players on the field be named?
