Training Course for driving Glencoe ATV
The photographs and details are courtesy of Mike Aldridge, Inverness who was a training forester in the period the photographs were taken.
Mike comments
‘I took these pictures on an All Terrain Vehicle Training Course in Moy Forest just off the A9 south of Inverness circa 1994-5.
This site is the location we used for joint exercises with the Fire Service and PLM Helicopters on Fire Protection courses, so there may be other pictures at the same location.’
The photograph shows part of the process of fitting tracks to the Glencoe and other images in the attached PDF demonstrate the driving of the machine on the limit of its stability down and up a steep bank and crossing a burn.
Any details of the Glencoe and what it was like to drive would be very welcome. Can anyone identify the driver through the rear windscreen?
