Priestman Excavator on the edge
Photograph is courtesy of Margaret Murray, daughter of Jimmy Munro who was the low loader driver and no doubt called upon to transport machinery in to help recover the machine.
The photograph is not clear in detail but the Priestman ALN483B may be sitting with its upper track on the platform of a lorry and slipped off while loading? However there does not appear to be much room for loading so close to the road edge and the flag pole like item above the track is unusual.
Can anyone work out the situation?
The Ford Thames Tipper Lorry with a B registration is taking the dug road material away from the JCB and could be the driver nearest to the camera.
Is that a Road Engineer or Foreman with the tie? Can anyone name any of the men and operators? A bonus point if you can name the forest!
