Jimmy Munro and lorry
Photograph is courtesy of Margaret Murray, daughter of Jimmy Munro. Previous information from Billy Mackay recorded on this website provides the following information ‘Jimmy started work with the Timber Supply Department during the war years, and at the end of the war transferred to the FC. He initially started as a Driver Mechanic at Blackstand on the Black Isle, arriving there at the same time as a Bert Skinner.’
This photograph is a bit fuzzy but is Jimmy Munro with one of his first lorries for transporting forestry machinery around from site to site. The Registration Number of the Foden Lorry is FYY 420. The year 1955 has been entered but is only a guess. The starting handle tied with a bit of string over the front grill may help identify model type.
Can anyone remember this lorry or perhaps provide more information on its specific model and the year it was registered?
Any information would be very welcome.
