The origin of this photograph is uncertain as it may have been taken around 1972 by Forestry Commission staff or possibly by Sinclair M Ross who worked for the RAF.
The view is believed to be of the bar and the tidal silt and sand zone between it and the forest foreshore in the area opposite Loch Loy and Cran Loch. Sinclair was extremely interested in the processes of the formation of the bar as his
