Findhorn Bay and Culbin Forest
Image is courtesy of Duncan Menzies, Banchory.
The origin of this photograph is uncertain as it may have been taken around 1972 from the Forestry Commission forest survey aircraft or possibly by Sinclair M Ross who worked for the RAF.
The oblique angle highlights part of Findhorn Bay at high tide and the eastern side of Culbin Forest is visible showing very clearly the older trees behind Binsness (on left) and then the major 1950s plantings which covered the rest of the dune area of the forest visible in the photograph.
