Beaufort Forestry School Football Team 1928
The photograph image is courtesy of Rob Milne, whose father is featured in the photograph and served as a Forester and Head Forester in a number of forests in Scotland including Clashindarroch, Bin and Culbin. It is hope to get a more complete description of his forestry career at a later stage.
This image is the first on this website which shows a group who attended the Forestry School or Forestry Apprentice School at Beaufort near Kiltarlity. The location of the school at Beaufort Estate or where the students were housed is not known but any information would be very welcome indeed. The School operated from 1920 through to 1929 when it closed, the students and teaching staff transferring to Benmore House and Forest near Dunoon.
The following people can be named:
No 4. Bill Fairbairn (At one point forester at Devilla)
No 12 Harry Watson (Head instructor of Beaufort Forestry School after James Fraser)
No15. Willie Milne
Any more names would be much appreciated.
