Visit to Ferness Forest
Photograph courtesy of Sandy Gordon, Black Isle, whose father James Gordon was a long service forester in the Forestry Commission.
The year is thought to be about 1959 or 1960 and following a heavy snow fall there is the usual jobs of clearing those tracks and roads which allow some movement around the central houses, office and sheds. Obviously the main roads have been cleared as the forest has a visit from the District Officers based in Culloden.
The people are from the left:
James Gordon (Head Forester)
A M Fraser (District Officer Culloden District)
John Y Ogilvie (Assist District Officer)
Groups: Forestry Areas, Groups of people
