Painting Houses at Ferness
Photograph courtesy of Sandy Gordon, Nairn, whose father James Gordon was a long service forester in the Forestry Commission latterly at Ferness Forest, Nairnshire. Sandy also worked for seven years with the Commission as a mechanic based at Longman workshop.
Great action shot of Jock Reyburn (Raeburn) and Charlie Macdonald spraying the shingle roofs of the forestry houses at Ferness Forest. At least a safety harness is being used but not sure how it is anchored. The preservative spray is being pumped up via a long tube from a pump operated by a third man but not seen very clearly in the attached PDF.

Jock Raeburn lived in one of these houses for many years at least until his retirement in the late 1970s and perhaps later.

The 3rd man working the pump was Jimmy Ross from Nairn - he was part of the Laiken squad.
