Photograph courtesy of Jim Pratt shows part of quadrangle near Benmore House and what would have been the old coach rooms used as garages. The glass awning protected drivers and passengers in the loading and cleaning processes from the all too frequent and heavy rain.

The car probably belonged to the late Gilly Dunbar. Comment left on 21 July 2008 at 20:43 by Pat Mc Auley
This was my starting point every morning after I started with the FC in 1970. It was known as "The Canopy". I caught a bus from Dunoon which dropped me at the Cot House bridge, then it was a three mile walk to here. A couple of years later, a school bus service began up Glen Massan and this let me off at the Golden Gates, a much easier start to the working day with a lovely ten minute walk through the gardens.
