A view of the building used as a Forester Training School from 1930 to 1965. In 1930 it opened under Harry Watson who reigned supreme for 22 years, in 1952 headed briefly by R Macdonald and then in 1953 Philip C Gough took over the chargeship until its closure in 1965.

Initially built by the Younger family of brewing fame - the gardens and grounds were managed by the Edinburgh Bontanical gardens and after closure as a Forestry School the Edinburgh Education Authority managed the building for a number of years.
