The whole forest must have been surveyed by a Forest Surveys team around 1960 – 62 and this map prepared in 1962 and signed by A P Atherton (HQ Cartography?) is the result of all the work. The compartment numbers and planting appears to have started on the south east end of the forest next to Loch Ness and also at the start of Glen Moriston and then progress anti- clockwise around further into the Glen. Some of the first planted areas had by this time been felled and replanted and are annotated as RP.

The first foresters from 1920, noted in the Port Clair Working Plan shown elsewhere on this site, are named as John Cameron Head Forester who covered both Inchnacardoch and also Port Clair for a time with J MacEwan as forester who had a long association there up until 1939.

Any further early details and names of foresters and workers would be very welcome.
