Royal Scottish Arboricultural Society
Early photograph taken in 1928 from a forestry album of 117 photographs compiled by an unknown Forestry Commission officer.
The photograph is annotated ‘Royal Scottish Arboricultural Society at Cortachy Castle June 1929’ with no other information. This is the seat of the Ogilvie family on Airlie Estates near Kirriemuir who have extensive lands and forestry interests in the Angus Glens.
No people have been named but assume members of the Ogilvie family are seated. It is unusual to see so many ladies during this period at a forestry event and some are wearing membership badges.
Any names against numbers would be very welcome.
