Early photograph taken in 1931 from a forestry album of 117 photographs compiled by an unknown Forestry Commission officer. No other information given.

This poor quality photograph shows early spaced forestry ploughing on a grass land site in Auchenroddan Forest in Dumfries and Galloway near Boreland. At this early period the ploughs were likely to have been heavy agricultural Ransomes or Solotracs.

I lived in Auchenroddan from 1969-1977. Worked for the F.C. from 1975-1985, a lot of it in Auchenroddan. My father bought the house and stables in 1980. Comment left on 05 February 2017 at 22:36 by Pete Nelson
