Edensmuir Forest — Mr Wm Gilchrest, Ladybank
Early photograph taken in 1931 from a forestry album of 117 photographs compiled by an unknown Forestry Commission officer showing pine planting on burnt ground. No other information given.
This photograph shows a young pine forest planted on land that had its vegetation burnt off before planting. The PDF shows another pine area that was planted on unburnt land that resulted in apparently slower growth. The gentleman in the photographs is named as Mr Wm Gilchrist of Ladybank.
Can anyone provide more information on the gentleman?
Any early details about this forest would be very welcome.
