Culbin Forest — Marram planting
Early photograph taken in 1924 from a forestry album of 117 photographs compiled by an unknown Forestry Commission officer. No other information given.
Large sand dune area which has been and is being planted with marram grass ready for tree planting at a later date. It is difficult to see but it appears as though this is a two man operation – one working the spade to make the hole and the other carrying the grass and planting it.
The figure in the back ground is the forester looks very like Forester F M Mitchell who was in charge from 1922 -1934.
