Forestry Memories

Achnacloich Estate Entrance gate off Taynuilt

Early photograph taken Apr 1928 from a forestry album of 117 photographs compiled by an unknown Forestry Commission officer.

The text for this photograph ‘These trees planted by Mr Sutherland’ and the figure leaning on the gate is very poor focus could indicate that the person is Mr John D Sutherland, Forestry Commission Assistant Commissioner for Scotland who must have had an association with the Estate and the Nelson family owners.

Any information would be very welcome.
