Strontian Radio mast and hut

Thanks to Bill Irvine of Radio and Communications branch for sending this photograph.

This radio mast was located on the high point of the minor and steep public road that linked Strontian with Polloch on Loch Sheil side. Polloch was the old office site for Glenhurich Forest.

No mains electricity to this site and hence the array of photo electric panels. This mast would have helped send signals down Loch Sunart side as well as Strotian area itself and of course parts of Glenhurich.
